The Chillicothe Post of the Highway Patrol reports they were investigating the one-vehicle crash at about 1:26 a.m. near milepost 18 in Ross County.
32-year-old Frederick K. Simon of Chillicothe was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on US 35 when his vehicle traveled off the left side, across the median, rolled over, continued across both eastbound lanes and down an embankment, before coming to rest.
Simon was ejected from the vehicle. He was flown to the Ohio State University Medical Center and was listed in stable condition. US 35 eastbound was shut down for about one hour while Air Evac landed and transported Simon from the scene.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The Ross County Sheriff’s Office and Scioto Township Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
