A Chillicothe woman and Washington CH man have died from the virus.
The H1N1 virus has claimed its first Ross and Fayette County residents.
54-year-old Sherry L. Smith of Chillicothe is Ross County's first H1N1 fatality, while 33-year-old Christopher Allen Ward of Washington Court House has become the first person in Fayette County to die from the virus.
Fayette County Deputy Health Commissioner Karen Lowe says Ward had no chronic health conditions. It is not known at this time whether Smith had any chronic health issues that contributed to her death.
Symptoms include high fever, body aches, upper repertory coughing, vomiting and diarrhea. The virus continues to be a concern for Ohio residents with reported cases in all 88 counties and over 20 deaths.
