Tecumseh Alumni Reunion

Past and present cast and crew members of the outdoor drama "Tecumseh!" will get together for an alumni reunion, this weekend. The Tecumseh Alumni Reunion starts with a meet & greet event at Tumbleweed on Friday night. On Saturday, there will be a picnic at the Kiwanis Shelter from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the alumni will watch that evening's performance of the outdoor drama. The reunion wraps up with a Sunday morning brunch at Sugarloaf Mountain and a final picnic that evening.

Brandon Smith CEO of the Scioto Society estimates more than 6,000 people worked with the production throughout its 45 years.

"If there's someone who has been involved in the show in the past and didn't register for the reunion, this is a great time to get involved. Everyone is welcome; just show up there on Friday evening and introduce yourself," said Smith.

Additionally, a special event is set for noon on Saturday at Ohio University-Chillicothe. Jack Kohler, who portrayed the role of Tecumseh in the '90s will discuss his film project "Something Inside Is Broken."

"He's made a film and a stage production about a particular story of Native Americans in California," said Smith.

The special film showing event is free and open to the public.

Smith hopes many alumni will come out for the reunion weekend.

"I know there's hundreds of people in Ross County alone who have served sodas, torn tickets, answered box office phones, and cleaned up after the shows who we'd love to see again," said Smith. "45 years is something to celebrate for sure, but it will be more fun with the whole family around!"
