Lawsuit Settled Over Ross County Multiple Killer

The Ohio prison system is paying $225,000 to the mother of an inmate beaten to death by a Ross County killer.

The Columbus Dispatch reports the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction settled the wrongful-death lawsuit last week.

While Casey Pigge was serving a 30-years-to-life sentence for the 2008 aggravated murder of the mother of his girlfriend in Ross County, he killed his cellmate in the Lebanon Correctional Institution with a cinder block in 2016, for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Department did not admit fault in the settlement.

Then in 2017, Pigge used his waist chain to strangle another prisoner on a bus following medical treatment in Columbus.
