Cleveland Indians Player Suspended for Performance-Enhancing Drug

(Cleveland) -- Major League Baseball is suspending Cleveland Indians player Emmanuel Clase for 80 games.

The right-handed pitcher tested positive for the performance enhancing drug Boldenone, which is in violation of MLB's Joint Drug Agreement.

The suspension isn't expected to commence until the 2020 regular season starts.

During the offseason, the Indians acquired Clase in a trade with the Texas Rangers for Corey Kluber.
