Chillicothe Council Holds 1st Reading on Second Street Direction Change

On Monday, Chillicothe Council members heard the first reading of an ordinance that would change the one-way traffic patterns on East and West Second streets between Mulberry and Walnut streets to two-way traffic. 

The first reading of an ordinance that would accept the dedication of an alley for public purposes and establish its name as "Hinton Way" was also heard.

Members also passed seven items: an ordinance to add duty to collect and dispose of items after evictions to the Codified Ordinances; authorizing the tax levies for the city for the 2021 fiscal year; appropriating $10,500 for renovations to two restroom roofs in Yoctangee Park; accepting $1,000 in grant funds; accepting $492.61 from the Chillicothe Country Club for the fire inspector's presence at its fireworks event; appropriating $9,000 for HVAC repairs at the City Administration Building; and appropriating $30,000 for Public Lands & Buildings natural gas expenses.
