Waverly Schools Closed After Increasing COVID-19 Cases

In Pike County, Waverly schools are closed today to sanitize after increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases.

School officials said 39% of the district, including both students and staff, were absent Thursday, despite efforts to sanitize and social distance. They say all next week, the district will be 100% remote learning from home.

They plan to return to classrooms Monday, September 20th, when facemasks will be required.

In addition, Chillicothe High School's home game tonight with Waverly was been called off. CHS's athletic department received word yesterday evening that Waverly would be unable to play as scheduled.
