Monday evening, Chillicothe Council started the new year.
Council met in a brief special session to pass the new year's $60 million budget, as well as approve the city’s participation in Ohio Opioid Settlement Agreements.
Mayor Luke Feeney mentioned they are still seeking applicants for the steering committee of the city's new master plan, the first since 1948.
He said they want a large, varied committee to create a vision for the city. He said it would not be backbreaking work, with maybe two-hour meetings once or twice a month, with a little homework.
Feeney said they would like more representatives from a couple areas, the 4th and 6th wards.
The application form is on the city's website. There is about a week left to apply.
