State Champion Clinton Massie Falcons Honored at Ohio Statehouse

The Ohio Division IV State Champion Clinton-Massie Falcons were honored at the Ohio Statehouse this week by State Representative Shane Wilkin.

Wilkin (R-Hillsboro) on Wednesday presented the champions with a commendation and congratulated the team on its hard-fought victory, its third football title in school history.

“This is a team that showed grit and perseverance. They never gave up and it’s a moment these young men, their families and fans will never forget,” Wilkin said.

The Falcons rallied from a 21-point deficit, scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final minute to win.

“Coach McSurley asked the young men, ‘play for the win or play for the tie?’ They bravely chose the win, etching the score 29-28 into Falcon history forever,” Wilkin said.

“It was a pleasure to have the team and coaches come out to the Statehouse to honor their win and legacy. Congratulations Falcons on another state Championship title and outstanding season.”
