(Ross County Service Center, Chillicothe) -- The Ross Soil and Water Conservation District announces the annual tree sale is underway. Residents can order from an assortment of tree seedlings including an expanded selection of pine trees. People can choose variety packs that offer different seedlings or bulk seedlings of a single species.
The Wildlife Packet includes trees that attract wildlife. The Wet Feet Packet has trees good at absorbing water. Gardeners can also order popular species packets with 25 seedlings for bulk planting, including the popular White Pine trees and an expanded selection of other conifers to build wind breaks or privacy groves.
Customers can shop online at www.rosscountyswcd.org or contact the district office for an order form. The last day to order trees is February 14, 2023. The district offers tree seedlings at near wholesale prices to encourage the benefits of planting trees, such as how strong root systems prevent soil erosion and filter stormwater runoff.
The Ross Soil and Water Conservation District promotes land use practices that prevent soil erosion and protect water quality. The district provides free technical assistance to landowners implementing conservation practices through the farm bill or for the CAUV tax program. And the district is engaged in a broad range of services related to geographic information systems, residential neighborhood drainage and runoff, wildlife and habitat.

The Ross Soil and Water Conservation District was formed in 1947 and is governed by a volunteer board of supervisors elected by Ross County residents and producers.
