Saturday is Full of Local Spring Events

Spring is definitely springing when it comes to local events, and Saturday is full of them. Kevin Coleman has consulted the visitors bureau's online calendar.

Enjoy a day on Yoctangee Park Lake and "Fish with a Firefighter" from 9am to noon. Rods, reels, and bait will be supplied to the first 100 kids age 2 to 15.

The Chillicothe Farmer’s Market continues their Winter Session in the halls of Bennett Hall, at Ohio University-Chillicothe, from 10 to noon.

Archaeology Day 2023 will feature more than 20 tabletop exhibits with a wide range of prehistoric artifacts, fossils, and rocks, 10am to 2pm at at the Ross County Heritage Center.

Ohio University-Chillicothe offers indelible body stain art in "Henna 101" for $45 from 11am to 2pm.

The Chillicothe Art League Spring Open Exhibition continues at the Pump House...during the annual "Earth Gathering Festival" with Earth-friendly art, music, food, products, and ideas, from 11 to 6.

Registration is closed for the 16th Annual "Wildflower Pilgrimage" by the Arc of Appalachia, based at the former "Seven Caves"...but in Bainbridge, Merlin Tuttle, the "Father of Modern Bat Conservation" will speak at the Paxton Theatre at 1:00. It's $15 for adults, $10 for kids...with a free book signing, and meet and greet, at the nearby Appalachian Forest Museum.
