Chillicothe wrapped up SCOL action with a 25-15, 25-23, 25-17 straight sets victory at Clinton-Massie Wednesday night.
The win evens the Cavs’ mark at 10-10 on the season and 9-3 in league play.
Coach Chelsey Jones was pleased with her team’s play along the front row adding “They (Clinton-Massie) came at us hard but we responded well.”
Tuesday night, Chillicothe hosted its second annual Serve Up A Cure fund raising night and turned in a straight set victory over McClain 25-14, 25-9, 25-7.
“These girls played their tails off” said Jones. “They came to play for a great cause.”
Between the High School and Middle School programs, the Cavs raised $3,000 for Southern Ohio Survivors, a local group which provides assistance to cancer patients and their families.
Jones credits the Cavs’ serving ability which has shown progress throughout the season for the win.
Statistically on back-to-back nights, Katelyn Martin had 20 kills and six blocks. In digs, Claire Corzine recorded 13, Emma Roderick 12 and Lauren Price 11. Jenna Holton and Sydney Cotterman had 2 blocks each. Roderick recorded 15 aces and Anna DeGarmo registered 48 assists.
The Cavs will play in a tri-match at Waverly with the Tigers and Unioto. Waverly is the number 2 seed in next week’s Southeast District Sectional Tournament. The Shermans are seeded third.
