In talking with Cavs coach Ron Hinton this week (click here to visit the Ron Hinton Show Podcast Page) , the seasoned veteran said his team's offense is uncharacteristically ahead of the defense.

That could be both good and bad when the team hits the field at Hamilton Township Friday.

The Cavs return eight starters on offense, but only three on the defensive side of the ball. The Rangers will present a number of problems for Chillicothe, starting with quarterback Zach Thompson who gained a great deal of experience after last year's match up at Herrnstein Field. Thompson threw for 980 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2011.

Fans might also remember seeing a young freshman (Aaron Williams) who returned two punts for touchdowns, helping Hamilton to overcome a 23-6 defecit to beat the Cavs last August.

Calling signals for the Cavs will be Ryan Mathis. The Junior handled a bulk of the load last season as a sophomore and coach Hinton is more than pleased with how Mathis has been running the offense during the summer and scrimmages.
