When the Cougars come to town, the Cavaliers will have their hands full Friday night at Herrnstein Field.

Thurgood Marshall has flexed its muscle in the Dayton are through the first three weeks of the season, averaging 55 points per game “They block down, kick out, block down, kick out, block down, tap… they’ll come right at ya” says Cavs coach Ron Hinton.

In their 24-7 win last Friday, Chillicothe forced Portsmouth West into some costly turnovers “And I haven’t seen them put the ball on the ground once, and they don’t beat themselves”.

Marshall (formerly Dayton Colonel White) has dominated their opponents, beating Lima Senior 55-7 in Week 1, dismantled Chaminade-Julienne 69-10 and beat Eastmoor Academy 42-13.

Speaking to Marshall’s speed “We’ve seen some of this (team quickness) against Hamilton Township, but not like this”.

The Cougar offensive approach is in a tight formation “they’re very patient to take the 4-5 yard crunch, crunch and then pop the pass on ya.”

Chillicothe is battling injury. 6’3” 320 pound lineman Josh Leonard isn’t expected to play this week with an ankle injury suffered last Friday. The Cavs want him fresh for DeSales next week and the SEOAL opener with Gallia Academy on the 28th.

Game Night with the Cavs begins radio coverage at 7:05pm on 1490 WBEX, Horizonview Channel 298 and on iheartradio via wbex.com.
