It's a storied past, this series between Chillicothe and Portsmouth. Unfortunately, the Trojans have had more to brag about over the years, tasting victory 15 more times than the Cavs (45-30-4).

Last season, Portsmouth had the last laugh in a 31-24 victory, which was the first matchup of its kind to not end in a tie. The Trojans kept the Cavs from scoring in overtime.

Friday's game however is filled with pride. Neither team poised for a spot in the post season (CHS 3-6, PHS 1-8).

It's Senior Night for four Chillicothe players, Jack Stetzer, Adam Bixler, Luke Barnes and Tim Beard. Barnes and Beard are questionable due to injuries. Barnes was hurt against Logan two weeks ago and Beard has been out since practice for Gallia Academy.

The four Cavaliers are recognized by posters on the Herrnstein Field press box and their numbers appear in the home corners of the north and south end zones.

Coach Ron Hinton is hoping to give the seniors something to talk about for their class reunions to come, a win over both Jackson and Portsmouth in the same season.
