The Cavalier Tennis team won its 7th straight match Tuesday with a 5-0 sweep of Athens in a makeup from Monday’s rain postponement.

Taylor Sprouse, Parisa Bennett and Liann VanVolkinburg cruised to straight set victories 6-0,6-0 in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Singles. Meanwhile, Chillicothe’s Doubles teams of Courtney Berry-Ellen Schmitt (6-0,6-1) and Tiffany Noel-Amanda Mares (6-0,6-2) helped to complete the sweep.

The Cavs (7-1/1-0) host Logan Wednesday at OUC. First serve is 4:30pm.  

Chillicothe defeated Logan at home Thursday night in straight sets 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.

Hayley Robinson led the offense with 30 assists. Katelyn Martin led the service points hitting 22 of 23 with 4 aces. Parisa Bennett led the team in digs with 11. Maddi Glendening had 12 kills, Katelyn Martin with 10, Caroline Benson with 7 and Kali Kight with 6. The Cavaliers are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the SEOAL.

Up next, the Cavs travel to Washington Court House Saturday. 

Warren earned wins over Chillicothe in both Boys and Girls Soccer Thursday night.

Playing at Warren, the Warriors got past the Cavs 2-1 in Boys Soccer, while the Lady Cavs fell at home 2-0.

On the links at Gallia Academy’s  home course at Cliffside, the Warren Warriors tied Logan at 160, but Warren was declared the winner. Gallia Academy was third followed by Jackson, Portsmouth and Chillicothe.

The Co-Medalists shared a 38 on the day, Gallia’s Randy Canady and Warren’s Jack McKenna.
