The Cavalier volleyball team lost a hard fought battle at Washington court House on Saturday in 4 sets, 25-22, 19-25, 24-26, 20-25.

Chillicothe won set one 25-22 as Parisa Bennett served up 2 aces and went 8 for 8 from the line and had help up front with Katelyn Martin pounding 5 kills.

Game 2 was a slugfest as the teams traded points until we called time out at 17-19 and Washington then ran off 3 points to push far enough ahead that we could not catch them.

Set 3 saw the Cavs stretch to a 22-19 lead only to fall 26-24 after some key hitting errors by the Cavs.

Set 4 produced much the same atmosphere as both teams slugged it out with the Cavs falling 20-25 to the Blue Lions.

Washington Court House was a district semi-finalist last year and returned most of their lineup so this was a great early matchup for both teams.

Statistically for Chillicothe Bennett led us in serving with a 17 for 17 effort and 3 aces and also led the team in digs for the match. Hayley Robinson dished up a 96% effort setting with 77 assists. Caroline Benson led the kills category with 15 followed by Kali Kight with 12, Maddi Glendening with 10 and Katelyn Martin 9.

Chillicothe now stands at 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the SEOAL with a trip to Warren this coming Thursday.

Also Saturday, the Chillicothe Boys Soccer team fell to Reynoldsburg 5-2.

The Chillicothe Cross Country Teams ran in the Circleville Invitational Saturday. The Boys placed 12th and the Girls 14th. Here’s how they performed individually:
