The Chillicothe girls Tennis team defeated the Watterson "B" team Thursday 5-0.
Taylor Sprouse won 1st Singles 6-0,6-2, Liann VanVolkinburg took 2nd Singles 6-1,6-1 and Tiffany Noel won 3rd Singles 6-3,1-6,1-0(10,4)
1st Doubles team Courtney Berry/Ellen Schmitt were 6-3,6-2 winners and Amanda Mares/Jessi Pentecost took the 2nd Doubles match 6-2,6-0 to complete the sweep.
Chillicothe has won 8 straight matches (9-1) and plays in the SEOAL at Jackson on Monday.
In the SEOAL Golf match at Jackson’s Franklin Valley, Chillicothe’s Gabe Preston and Pierce Knisley finished two strokes behind Tri-Medalists Rob Canady (GA), Zach McKenna (W) and Steve Farley (W) who fired 35’s.
Warren won the match with a 150 team score, finishing three strokes ahead of Gallia Academy. Portsmouth was 3rd, Jackson 4th, Logan 5th and the Cavs were 6th.
In Cross Country, the Boys finished 2nd and the Girls 7th in the Logan Invitational Thursday.
Ben Haller had the top time for the Cavs, posting an 18:17 to finish 3rd. Donavan Lowe (8th) and Lander Zook (10th) joined Haller in the top 10. Warren finished ahead of Chillicothe in the Boys race, followed by Logan, Jackson and Gallia Academy.
Elyse Black (19th) was the top Cavalier Girls finisher. Warren took the Girls race. Alexander was 2nd followed by Logan, Gallia Academy and Chillicothe.

On the soccer pitch, the Lady Cavs' Samantha Watkins scored 3 goals and six other Cavs found the back of the net en route to a 9-1 victory at Minford.
Corinne Patino, Lydia Kelly, Kylee Hardesty, Rachel Conaway, Kara Detty and Riley Allison each put in a goal.
The victory improved Chillicothe's ercord to 2-2.
In a related note, the Cavs match at Logan was suspended by lightning with 17 minutes remaining in the first half. Chillicothe had just taken a 1-0 lead on a goal by Samantha Watkins. The match will be continued on October 10th.
In Volleyball, the Cavs traveled to Warren and swept the defending SEOAL champions straight sets 25-19, 25-16, 25-17. CHS was paced by Parisa Bennett serving 15/15 at 100% and 4 aces. As a team the Cavaliers served 92% and had 6 aces. Hayley Robinson dished out all the assists at 100% or no errors. Caroline Benson led the Cavs in kills with 12 followed by Maddi Glendening with 9 and Katelyn Martin 8.
Chillicothe now stands at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the SEOAL.
The win was the first win over Warren for Coach Bret Wrightsel in his 5 years at the helm.
