Chillicothe finished in 3rd place out of 8 teams at the Unioto Invitational Saturday.

The Cavs beat South Webster in the first round in two sets 25-23 and 25-21. Chillicothe then lost to host Unioto in 3 sets 21-25, 25-22, 26-28. In their final match, the Cavaliers defeated Washington Court House for third place in 3 sets 25-23, 15-25, 25-21.

Statistically for the day, Hayley Robinson had 5 aces and 92 assists Parisa Bennett served up a 31 of 31 day for 100% and also led the team in digs with 33. Katelyn Martin paced the kill category with 34 followed by Maddi Glendening with 23 and Kali Kight had 17 and Caroline Benson 15.

Chillicothe now stands at 6 and 3 overall and 2-0 in the SEOAL with the next match at Jackson on Thursday.

On the links, Chillicothe placed third in the Westfall Invitational with a team total 382. Gabe Preston had the Cavs low score on the day an 85 just ahead of Pierce Knisley’s 86.

Tree of Life won the tournament, ahead of host Westfall, then Chillicothe, Circleville, Zane Trace and Huntington.

And in Boys Soccer, the Cavs took Marietta, 2-0 for their second win on the season. Chillicothe earned its second straight shutout, following a 1-0 win over Logan Thursday night.
