The Chillicothe Boys Cross Country team finished first of the 13 team field at Piketon Tuesday.  The Girls team finished 5th.

Top runners included Ben Haller (4th 18:01), Donavan Lowe (6th 18:30) and Mark Hirsch (13th 19:01). On the Girls side, the top three runners were Joanne Newman Jones (13th 24:01), Elyse Black (22rd 24:45) and Geri Chaney (29th 25:21).

Cavs coach Steve Semancik said “Every athlete on the high school team and the middle school team ran their best time of the year.”

The Cavs run in the Aaron Reed Invitational Saturday.

The Chillicothe Boys and Girls Soccer teams Split their matches with Jackson.

The Boys earned their third straight win with a 3-0 score at McVicker Field while the Lady Cavs fell 2-0 at Jackson’s Alumni Stadium.

The Boys earned their third consecutive shut out and improved to 3-2-1.

Dalton Bettendorf, Frankie Whalen, and Tommy Bolte scored goals for the Cavs, Bettendorf and Bolte added assists.

Chillicothe out shot Jackson 14-4 while Tristan Oesterle had 4 saves.

Frankie Whalen leads the team with 5 goals this season.

The Boys travel to Zane Trace Saturday at 11am while the Girls are on the road to Dublin Scioto Thursday night at 7:00pm.
