The Chillicothe Girls Tennis team swept their match at East Clinton Monday 5-0.
Earning straight sets victories across the board for Singles players Taylor Sprouse (1st), Liann VanVolkinburg (2nd) and Jessi Pentecost (3rd) and Doubles teams Courtney Berry-Ellen Schmitt (1st) and Tiffany Noel-Amanda Mares (2nd).
Chillicothe (14-3) travels to Portsmouth Tuesday. The Cavs are 5-0 in SEOAL action and claimed a share of the leaguetitle with a 4-1 over Portsmouth last week. A win Tuesday gives the Cavs an outright SEOAL title.
The Cavalier Volleyball team continued its streak of unbeaten in sets at Logan Monday night with a 25-20, 25-14, 25-20 win.
Hayley Robinson recorded 35 assists and 14 of 15 serving for 93%. Parisa Bennett was also 14 of 15 for 93% and had 2 aces to go with her 12 digs. Maddi Glendening had 15 digs and pounded 7 kills. Kali Kight had 10 kills and Katelyn Martin led the team with 12 kills. Nikki Alberta also served up 9 for 9 at 100 %.
The Cavs have an 18-0 record in sets in the league and remain in first place followed by Gallia Academy in 2nd and Warren and Logan tied at 3rd with 3 losses each.
Chillicothe is 6-0 in the SEOAL and 11-5 overall.
The Freshman also won in 2 sets to up their record to 8-0 and remain in 1st in the league and the JV avenged a earlier loss to Logan by sweeping them in 2 sets also to up their record to 8-5 and 5-1 in the league.
Warren visits CHS this Thursday.
There are two Soccer matches Tuesday. The Boys (6-3-1) will travel to undefeated Unioto with a 7:15pm first kick and the Girls (3-6) will host Whetstone at McVicker Field at6pm.
