The ride for Bret Wrightsel's Cavalier Volleyball team came to an end Thursday in Sunbury.

The Cavs (19-6) fell to Gahanna Lincoln in straight sets, 25-21, 25-12, 25-14. It was the first time the Lady Cavs had been beaten in three sets by an opponent all season.

Some early errors in the first set didn't allow the Cavs to counter Gahanna. "I kinda killed our momentum right there, at this level you've got to play clean."

Despite the loss Coach Wrightsel was proud of what his team had accomplished this season. "I'm really happy for these kids, to have had the year they had."

Wrightsel adds, "We've won three sectionals in five yedars, made three District appearances, the program's healthy."

Gahanna faces Grove City for the District title Saturday night. The Greyhounds dropped Westerville Central in 5 sets.
