Rain Postpones Lady Cavs-Athens to Thursday

The heavy rainfall Wednesday morning has forced the postponement of Chillicothe's Sectional Semi-Final at Athens High School to Thursday (5pm).
Lady Cavs face Athens; Get New Home

While the Lady Cavs tangle with #1 seed Athens Wednesday, the team is also preparing for a big day this Friday.
Officials will break ground at 5pm Friday for the Lady Cavs’ new Softball Diamond on the Mt. Logan Elementary complex located at 841 East Main Street.
The ceremony is open to the public.
Former softball players are invited to join the current members of the Lady Cavs team in marking this historic event.
The Chillicothe girls have previously played at Diamond 1 in Yoctangee Park, but were moved to the Annex in the early 1990s. Last winter, the Chillicothe school board paved the way for a permanent site at the Mt. Logan complex for the team's new home.
The ceremony will be followed by a cookout and reception.
Lady Cavs Claim Circleville Invite Title, Boys Earn 4th

The Lady Cavs ruled the day at the Circleville Track and Field Invitational Friday. Chillicothe's Girls tallied 159.5 points and freshman Megan Osborne grabbed meet medalist honors by winning the 100, 200, 400 Meter Dashes while anchoring the 4x400 Meter relay team. As a team, Chillicothe placed in every event and won seven of them. The Boys finished 4th as a team and earned wins in five events. For complete Circleville Invitational results, click here. Softball Continues, Baseball Closes Season

The Chillicothe (8-16) softball team avenged its loss last weekend at Vinton County with a 9-0 Quarter-final victory over teh Lady Vikings in the Division II Southeast District. The win sets up a battle with Athens this Wednesday (5/12) at Athens.
Jackson beat Chillicothe (2-20) 17-8 in the Division II Southeast District Quarter-final.
Softball Gains Win, Baseball & Tennis Drop Decisions

The Cavs battled for 7th place in the SEOAL Day of Champions for baseball and softball Wednesday.
The Lady Cavs edged Portsmouth 3-2 and the baseball Cavaliers fell short, falling to Jackson 14-11. Chillicothe (2-19) will see the Ironmen again this Saturday afternoon in the Southeast District Division II Baseball Sectional Semi-final. The winner plays #1 seeded Warren.
The softball team's victory Wednesday improves their record to 7-16 after having gone winless the previous two seasons. The Lady Cavs will meet Vinton County in the Southeast District Division II Softball Sectional Quarter-final in the Yoctangee Park Annex Saturday afternoon.
The Chillicothe tennis team lost their match at Pickerington North 4-1. The Cavs' 1st Doubles team made up of 1st and 2nd Singles players John Lods and Gabe Seymour had a marathon 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory.
Chillicothe nearly had another win in 1st Singles. Tyler Allen went the distance falling 6-4, 6-7 (3) and 6-4.
The Cavs travel to Lancaster next week before opening post season play at Portsmouth.
Cavs Split with Panthers; SEOAL DOC Games Wednesday

Chillicothe split with Southeastern on the diamonds Tuesday night.
The Lady Cavaliers nipped the Panthers 5-4 in softball while in baseball, Southeastern outscored Chillicothe 15-10.
Both teams will host the SEOAL Day of Champions matches Wednesday, vying for 7th place finishes.
Chillicothe is 2-0 against Portsmouth outscoring the Trojans 15-0 in softball. They'll play in the Yoctangee Park Annex at 5pm.
The Cavs (2-7) baseball team faces Jackson (1-7) for the first time this season. They'll play at Ron Hansel Field at 5pm.
The SEOAL championships for baseball and softball will be decided by Warren and Gallia Academy's teams.
Baseball and Softball Recieve Tournament Draws

The Cavs Baseball team will face Jackson this Saturday at 1pm in the opening game of the Southeast District Division II sectional tournament. The winner advances to play South Bracket's number 1 seeded Warren Warriors in the second round next Monday (May 10th) in Vincent, Ohio. Good Weekend for Track and Field Teams

The Chillicothe Boys and Girls teams finished 3rd Friday at the Africentric Nubian Invitational and the Girls finished 5th Saturday at the Gary Smith Invitational in Worthington.
Taking 1st places on Friday, Brianna Cahill in the 1600 and 3200 Meter Runs, Alyssa Oates in the Shot Put, Monique Lee in the Discus. For the Boys, Cameron Lowe in the Boys 800 Meter Run, the 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Tyler Semancik, Lowe, Patrick Byrd and Isaac Beverly and Lance Gilbert in the Discus.
Saturday, Megan Osborne set a new meet record in the Girls 100 Meter Dash with a 12:36, breaking the old record of 12.50 in 2004.

Cavs Win SEOAL Boys Tennis Title

Chillicothe breezed their way through the competition in the SEOAL this season, easily taking the championship.
The Cavs didn't lose a court at any position in league play.
"Everyone played very well today." said first year coach Brad Seymour. "The kids did a tremendous job at playing hard and getting the job done."
The Cavs improved to 10-3 and will travel to Lancaster Monday.
Chillicothe finished league play with a dual meet with Marietta and Gallia Academy. Here are the results: Chillicothe 5, Marietta 0:
