Cavs Thursday (4-21) Recap
Thursday 04-21-2011 10:09pm ET

The baseball and softball teams got back onto the diamond after yet, more rain delays. For both teams, one of the stories of the year is the rain with so many games being either postponed or canceled. For the softball team as well, a common occurrence lately is errors and poor defensive play. Thursday night was tough night in the field for the Lady Cavaliers as they fell to Gallia Academy. Both teams each had 9 hits, and the pitching of Riley Boullion was strong with 6 strikeouts and a complete game. However, 9 of Gallia's 12 runs were unearned. At the plate, Boullion and Kendra Moore each had 2 hits. Jordan Webb hit a double for Chillicothe. The Lady Cavs will travel to Warren on Friday, then will host Minford and Westfall in a tri-match on Saturday, weather permitting.

The baseball team saw a 3 run lead in the top of the 7th inning go away as Gallia Academy scored 4 runs in the final inning for a 8-7 win. The Cavaliers outhit Gallia 13-11, but Chillicothe committed 3 errors while Gallia had none. Pierce Knisley went the distance on the mound for the Cavaliers. If the weather cooperates, the Cavs will be at Warren on Friday and host Athens in a double header on Saturday.

Cavs Thursday (4-14) Recap
Thursday 04-14-2011 11:18pm ET

Baseball: Cavs Get First Win Of 2011

Wednesday, Chillicothe Baseball coach Marty Dunn felt that first win on the year was right around the corner for the Cavaliers, well he was right as the Cavs got in the win column for the first time in 2011 with a 14-4 win over Logan in 6 innings. Chillicothe continued their trend of late with a hot start at the plate, scoring 4 runs in the first two innings. This time they are were able to keep it up through the entire game as they put a 7 spot in the 6th inning that enforced the run-rule. As Coach Dunn pointed out after Wednesday's game, it has been his tough for his team to develop on the field as rain has played havoc on the early schedule forcing several postponement. Dunn said getting to play a second consecutive game was just his team needed to help develop some consistency. Pierce Knisley pitched all 6 innings, getting the win while striking out 7 Logan batters. At the plate Shawn Jackson, Danny Demmick, and Jalen Miscule each had 2 hits. Both of Demmick's hits were doubles. Click Here
