After two years and dealing with the elements of Mother Nature last spring, Chillicothe finally hosted a Girls Lacrosse match.

The crowd at Mt. Logan's McVicker Field saw a competitive match with Delaware Hayes.

Chillicothe had earned its first program win last month (12-7 at Delaware), but fell short in sweeping the Pacers for the season, losing 13-11.

The Cavs saw Delaware race out to a 7-2 lead in the first half and the Pacers held an 8-4 edge at the intermission.

Chillicothe rallied to tie the game at 9 on a goal by Whitney Watts and again took an 11-10 lead on a goal by Nicole Camponeschi.

Delaware countered with two quick goals from consecutive face offs and got an insurancegoal within the final minute.

Coach Ryan Camponsechi said "It got really close and thought we were going to pull it off, but they did a great job. I'm really proud of them."

Chillicothe (1-2) will face off with Olentangy Orange this Tuesday at 6pm at McVicker Field.
