Demick Wrestling at Notre Dame College

Former Cavalier Wrestler Danny Demick is in his freshman season at Notre Dame College near Cleveland.

Demick is 5-4 for the Falcons who are stacked with talent. NDC is the defending NAIA National Champion.

Last weekend, Demick finished 3-1 in Mt. Union's Purple Raider Open, falling 3-to-2 to teammate Orlando Scales in the 285lb Final.

Bowling Teams Split with Lancaster

Chillicothe boys varsity bowling team defeated the Lancaster Golden Gales, 2237 to 2152 Monday at Tiki Lanes in Lancaster.

The Cavs were led by Donavon Keel with a 411 series. Robbie Vest bowled a 388 series and Cody Oates a 382 series.

The Cavs record improves to 5-0,4-0 in the SCOC.

The Lady Cavs fell to Lancaster 1808 to 1542. Summer Finley led Chillicothe with a 317 series.

The Lady Cavs record falls to 3-2, 2-2 in the SCOC.

Chillicothe hosts Fisher Catholic Wednesday at Shawnee Lanes at 5pm.
Cavalier Bowlers Take Weekend HP Lanes Event

The Chillicothe Cavaliers boys varsity bowling team won the Central District Preview Classic Saturday at HP Lanes in Columbus.

The Cavs were the top seed of 19 teams after the 3 game qualifying round with a score 3085.

In the elimination rounds, the Cavs defeated Columbus Briggs 3 games to 2 and Big Walnut 3 games to 2.

In the finals, the Cavs defeated Newark 3 games to 1.

Cody Oates led the Cavs and was selected to the all tournament team. Oates bowled a 674 series. Other Cavs series scores, Trevor Chaney (617), Donavon Keel (614),  Robbie Vest (598) and Jarrad Zeisler (582).

The Lady Cavs finished 9th in the girls division. Summer Finley made the all tournament team with a 577 series.

The Cavs resume action Monday with the Lancaster Golden Gales at 5:00 pm at Tiki Lanes in Lancaster.

Smith Makes 3rd Place Throw vs Michigan

Former Cavalier Curt Smith finished 3rd in the Shot Put during the Ohio State-Michigan Indoor Track and Field Meet Saturday.

The Buckeyes beat Michigan in "The Dual" 88-74. It was OSU's third straight win over the Wolverines.

Smith had a throw of 54 feet 5 inches. His teammate Matt DeChant is the number one indoor thrower in the nation, and threw an indoor best 63 feet 1 inch.

Cavs #2 in D II Boys Basketball Poll

The Chillicothe Boys debuted at number 2 in Division II of the season's first Associated Press Boys Basketball poll.

The Cavs are behind Dayton Dunbar and ahead of Logan Elm, ranked third.

In Division III, Piketon is 4th followed by Oak Hill and Chesapeake 7th.

The Cavs Wrestling Tir-Match at Wellston has been postponed. No date has been set for a rescheduled match.

Chillicothe boys bowling team defeated Lancaster Fisher 2019 to 1741,Monday night.Cody Oates led the Cavs with a 435 series.Chillicothe's record improves to 4-0, 3-0 in the SCOC.

The Lady Cavs defeated Lancaster Fisher 1649 to 1386. Summer Finley led the Lady Cavs with a 330 series.The Lady Cavs record improves to 3-1,2-1in the SCOC.

Up next, the Cavs bowl in the Cincinnati Bearcat Classic this Saturday and the Central District Preview this Sunday.

The Swim Meet at Greenfield McClain and Wrestling match at Unioto have been postponed. No make up date has been scheduled as of 1/11/11.

Time Change for Lady Cavs-Gallia Academy

Saturday's Lady Cavs basketball game at Gallia Academy has been moved up.

The JV game was to have started at 6:00pm, but it's been moved up to 12:00pm with the Varsity game beginning around 1:30pm.
