Lady Cavs Host ZT in Home Opener

Chillicothe fans will get a look at a the Lady Cavs in their home whites tonight at Hatton Memorial Gymnasium.
The Cavs (1-0) tangle with Zane Trace (1-0) with the JV game beginning at 6pm.
This will be the teams' third meeting. Chillicothe has won the first two games in the series, 57-25 in 2007 and 38-27 in 2008.
Experience will be key for Zane Trace, returning a number of players including Jessica Roepke. The 5'11" senior provides a physical presence in the paint and could be an interesting matchup for Chillicothe's front court. Amanda Prickett, McKenzie Tatman and Sierra Sigman have seen the Cavs in each of the games in this series.
Tip off for the varsity game is around 7:30pm on 1490 WBEX.
Chillicothe Takes The 'Burg in Season Opener 43-37

In their first game under new coach Shawn Blue, the Lady Cavs beat Wheelersburg 43-37 in the Lady Bearcats Classic at Paint Valley High School.
MVP honors were given to the Cavs' Whitney Harewood and Erica Schmidt for Wheelersburg.
Chillicothe (1-0) hosts Zane Trace Thursday.
Season Opener Saturday at Paint Valley

The Lady Cavs open their season with Wheelersburg Saturday (6:45pm) at Paint Valley High School in day two of the Lady Bearcat Classic.

New Coach, New Season; Opener 11/28 at Paint Valley

When Shawn Blue was hired by the Chillicothe City School Board in June, he told expressed his desire to turn up the defensive intensity and get after the competition.
So far, so good in scrimmages.
The Lady Cavs have battled East Clinton, Liberty Union, Tree of Life and Adena. Still ahead, a trip to Logan Elm (11/19) and a home tune up with Unioto (11/24) before the season opener at Paint Valley (11/28).
Joining Blue on the bench, Varsity Assistant Zach Kern who played for Blue at Amanda Clearcreek and former Chillicothe assistant Eric Devlin, who was part of the staff under head coach Jeff Lisath six years ago.
Blue was the Girls Basketball head coach at Worthington Christian in the 1980s and the Boys head coach for Tree of Life. Most recently, he was with the Amanda Clearcreek boys basketball program.
Top returners for Chillicothe, three year letterman Monique Lee, Mariah Smith and Whitney Harewood. Once a full roster has been released, it'll be posted here.
