The Tigers earned a 54-34 win.

Lady Cavs Fall to Portsmouth 36-30
Wednesday 12-22-2010 9:46pm ET
The Lady Cavaliers basketball team fought and scrapped their way throughout a close game, but eventually fell to the Lady Trojans of Portsmouth by the score of 36-30 on Wednesday night.
The score stood at 20-13 at the half, but some stingy Cavalier defense and ice cold Portsmouth shooting allowed the Cavs to hold the Trojans to 0 for 17 from the floor in the third quarter. All the while the Lady Cavs nearly matched their first half output, scoring ten points led by six third quarter points from Lauren Lane, to give them the lead 23-21 heading into the fourth quarter.
Portsmouth would come to life in the fourth quarter though, led by the outside shooting of Hannah Foster and some clutch free throws down the stretch to hold off the pesky Lady Cavs for a 36-30 victory.
The Cavs were led in scoring by Mindy Williams with 10 points. Kaylee Wright chipped in 7 points and also provided leadership on the floor, grabbing several rebounds and diving after loose balls throughout the game in what Cavalier Head Coach Shawn Blue called her "coming out performance." Lauren Lane and Kayla Keener also added 6 and 5 points respectively.
The Lady Cavs are in action again on Monday December 27th at Circleville.
Cavs Coach Blue Seeing Progress Despite Losses
Wednesday 12-22-2010 11:42pm ET
The Lady Cavs have struggled to find ways to win this season, but Cavs coach Shawn Blue says he has seen some improvement in his inexperienced squad.
Chillicothe played one of its best halves to date and trailed Gallia Academy 15-13 at the half Saturday, but couldn't find offense in the second half of their 40-18 loss.
Monday night, Alyssa Oates had a number of blocked shots on a much bigger Sheridan lineup and Mindy Williams is making some strides at guard. Williams had 11 points and Oates 9 points in Chillicothe's 49-30 loss to Sheridan.
Blue said Williams played with a lot of energy Monday night and felt it rubbed of on the rest of the team. "... and we missed some free throws last night that we're going to correct... we're getting there."
Chillicothe will host Portsmouth Wednesday night. The Junior Varsity game has been cut down to just two quarters due to short numbers on the Trojans roster. That'll mean the Varsity game will begin around 7pm Wednesday.

The Lady Tigers present a much larger lineup than in the past and they kept their offense close to the basket, and controlled the boards defensively.
Chillicothe's Alyssa Oates was the only double figure scorer, tallying 10 points.
