Citing a desire to further her administrative interests, Amy Hughes has submitted her letter of resignation as Chillicothe Girls Varsity basketball coach. Hughes says she plans to continue her teaching and administrative duties for Chillicothe City Schools. Hughes has coached basketball for 9 years. During the last three, she's led the Cavaliers to two SEOAL South Division titles and a 46-18 record and had two players earn basketball scholarships. Hughes expressed appreciation for the Cavalier fans and calls Chillicothe “a great place to live and great place to coach. I want to thank the administration and Board of Education, and the school system for their support (during her coaching days)". The Chillicothe City Schools Board of Education does not meet until May 18th to act on the resignation. Hughes becomes the latest in the list of basketball coaches making changes. Earlier this year, girls coaches Steve Kalinowski and Ryan Day have resigned at Circleville and Washington Court House respectively. Perhaps the most notable came from the boys side, Rick Van Matre at Greenfield McClain.
