Cavs fall at Marietta 52-44

Chillicothe dropped its first league game at Marietta Saturday afternoon falling 52-44. Marietta has won its last four meetings with Chillicothe.
The Lady Cavs were in a tight contest at 8-8 through the first quarter, but Marietta took a three point edge at the half, 25-22.
The Tigers began to pull away with a 17-7 third quarter to lead 42-29.
The loss drops the Cavs to 6-1 in the SEOAL and 9-4 overall. Chillicothe slips into a first place tie with Ironton. Chillicothe travels to Ironton Wednesday.
Hannah Day paced Chillicothe with 19 points.
The Cavs play Glen Este (9-1) at 2:30pm Sunday at Pickerington Central High School. Glen Este, located in Batavia, Ohio, was scheduled to play at Bexley Saturday. The Lady Trojans suffered their first loss of the season against Fort Ancient Valley Conference foe Winton Woods last week.
Chillicothe Limits Gallia's Offense Winning 36-19

The Lady Cavaliers' defense proved effective as they beat Gallia Academy 36-19, Wednesday. In the first quarter, Gallia was only able to muster 4 points to Chillicothe's 12, two of which were foul shots. Additionally, Chillicothe was able to maintain that defensive grip through the end of three quarters, leading Gallia 25-8. The Lady Cavs were led by Monique Lee with 13 points, while Hannah Day chipped in 9 on three pointers. Chillicothe stands at 6-0 in the SEOAL and will travel to Marietta on Saturday.
Cavs Find Success in Brown County

Chillicothe improved to 8-3 after beating Eastern Brown 50-32 in a non-league matchup in Sardinia, Ohio Saturday. It's the Cavs' fourth straight win. The Lady Cavs jumped ahead 13-7 in the first period, then held Eastern Brown to two points in the second quarter while building a 25-9 halftime lead. That lead increased to 17 points by the end of the third at 38-21. Holly Lemay led Chillicothe with 12 points and Monique Lee had 11. Chillicothe 5-0 after whipping Portsmouth

With their 62-15 victory over Portsmouth Saturday, the Cavs improved to 5-0 in SEOAL play and 7-3 through their first 10 games. Monique Lee equaled the Trojans offense with 15 points and Jasmine Vinson chipped in 12. Defense has been the key in most of Chillicothe's wins. In their seven victories, the Cavs have surrendered just 27.4ppg. The Lady Cavs travel to Sardinia, Ohio for a meeting with Eastern Brown. The Lady Warriors won the Southern Hills League with a 12-1 mark and were 15-5 during the regular season. This year, however, Eastern is 1-4 through five games. Photos credit: Jim Day. Chillicothe Handles Jackson 42-20

Jasmine Vinson led Chillicothe with a 15 point night at Jackson. The win improves the Ladys Cavs mark to 6-3 and 4-0 in the SEOAL. Chillicothe returns to Hatton Memorial Gymnasium Saturday January 3rd to host Portsmouth.
Cavs hand Ironton first loss of season, 51-46

Ironton came into Hatton Gym, winners of six straight games.
The Tigers went home with their tails tucked.
Chillicothe jumped out to a double figure lead in the first half and held on for a 51-46 victory to improve to 5-3 and stand atop the SEOAL South Division at 3-0.
The Cavs led 13-4 after the 1st quarter, 27-19 at the half and 42-25 heading into the final period.
Jasmine Vinson led Chillicothe with 15 points while Holly Lemay had a season high 14 points. Hannah Day and Monique Lee combined for 16 more.
The rematch will take place January 21st at Ironton.
Chillicothe travels to Jackson next Saturday, December 27th.

Undeafeated Ironton comes to Hatton Gym

The Lady Cavs (4-3/2-0) are back on the floor Saturday facing the Ironton Tigers (6-0). Chillicothe won both games with Ironton last year.
Circleville wins third straight over Cavs, 36-30

In a non-conference battle Thursday night, Circleville beat Chillicothe for a thrid straight time, 36-30. The Lady Cavs were down by 10 points early in the 4th and rallied to get it to 3 but couldn't get closer. Monique Lee led Chillicothe with 10 points. Brittney Strawser was rushed to the hospital during game after a fall which cut open her chin. 4-3 Chillicothe will host Ironton Saturday night.
Cavs Take Logan 42-41

The Chieftains blasted Chillicothe in two meetings last season, by 21 points in the regular season meeting and 45-28 in the SEOAL Day of Champions game. This time around, Hannah Day poured in 17 of Chillicothe's 42 points, despite fouling out of the game midway through the 4th quarter. The Lady Cavs held a 28-14 lead at halftime, but the Chieftains battled back as Chillicothe had trouble at the free throw line for a second straight game. Chillicothe managed to sink just 5 of 17 foul shots. The Cavs improved to 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in SEOAL play. It was Chillicothe's fifth game in eight days. Chillicothe travels to Circleville Thursday. The Tigers took Vinton County in a Friday night battle at Rio Grande 52-44.
