Beginning July 1st, Ross Countians who do not have access to a prescription drug benefit may be able to get those drugs at a discount price.

In a press release, the Ross County Commissioners are announcing they have agreed to participate in the National Association of Counties prescription discount card program. The commissioners will appear on the Wednesday morning WBEX Sounding Board Show at 8:35am to explain how the program works.

The program costs the county nothing to participate, but it will allow individuals to get prescriptions at an average 24-25% discount at participating pharmacies. The savings are realized due to negotiated discount prices between insurance and pharmaceutical companies.
