A Columbus man was indicted by the Grand Jury Friday. On November 1st,  Chillicothe Police were called to 686 Ervin Ave, in reference to an armed home invasion.

The victim stated that a black male wearing dark clothing came in with a sawed off shotgun demanding pills. The subject then grabbed the pills off the table and fled.

When a second officer came to the scene he noticed Sherman Stoutmire taking off a hoodie. A maroon vehicle pulled up and Stoutmire attempted to get in. Officers were able to get Stoutmire to the ground before he could get in car.

Officers later discovered a shotgun at the scene. If convicted Stoutmire could face 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

A Chillicothe man was also indicted, for possession of Heroin by the Ross County Grand Jury Friday. On Sept. 20th the Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant at 433 Lillie Street.

Upon search of home Ervin B. Himelrick was found in an upstairs bedroom. Upon search of his person officers found a bag in his front pocket and balloons containing a brown substance.

Officers also found $1894 in cash in his pocket including buy money from a task force deal. The balloons contained 1.1 grams of heroin.

Himelrick was indicted for possession of heroin. If convicted he could face up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.

The Grand Jury handed out 21 indictments all together Friday.
