In his first year in an elected position - as Mayor - businessman Don McIlroy is proud of how local governments are cooperating...especially in nudging state government.
He said county and city are cooperating and are on the same page - and so they are moving faster together.
He also offered good news soon. McIlroy said he hopes to announce two new businesses moving to town by the end of the first quarter.
Auditor Gayle Spangler said the first year for the new administration "made a world of difference," and that the road project at the schools will keep everyone busy...in a good way.
She says the city's budget is stagnant, but that's better than other cities. She says the difficulty is partly because of two additional revenue cuts from the state.
Council President David Crawford said there are difficulties ahead...but that's nothing new.
Speaking of looking ahead, a special meeting is Saturday the 19th where all of council and the administration will consider the coming year.
Like all meetings...it's open to the public.
