Two separate fires in the news Monday.

A house fire was reported around midnight in the 2300 block of Mingo Road. Scanner traffic indicated one volunteer firefighter might have suffered a minor injury in battling the blaze.

Firefighters were called to a house fire on Woodland Avenue in the Kingston area late the same morning. Officials on the scene say the house looks to be a total loss. The state fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
