The increasing problem with prescription pain medication abuse has even caused the local DARE program to adapt their instructions to kids.

Chillicothe Police DARE Officer Julie Preston says they added two weeks to their instruction to address the opiate abuse problems.

Officer Preston says some of her students have conveyed they have witnessed the abuse of pain meds in their homes.
