Tiffin Elementary School was placed on lock down as a safety precaution while authorities worked to arrest a felony fugitive, Friday afternoon.
Chillicothe Police Officer Bud Lytle said police had a parole pick-up order on Brody McGraw, who was running on foot.
"We were concerned for the safety of the children in the school as this was within a block of Tiffin Elementary," he said.
McGraw was taken into custody in the 300-block of Clay Street, said Officer Lytle.
Authorities estimated Tiffin was locked down at 2:40pm, and that the lock down was lifted about five minutes later.
