Applications are currently being accepted for The Feast of the Flowering Moon Queen Pageant. Queen Director Trisha Bodary said the contestants will get to experience a new element that's been added to the pageant called, "Dress to Express."
"They will be asked to pick something out about themselves that they would like to express about their personality," she said.
"Say, for instance, that they're into athletics; they could wear one of their sports uniforms."
Afterward, the girls will change into their pageant gowns and go through an interview process.
The winner of the Queen Pageant will receive a $500 college scholarship.
Bodary said they will also hold a Princess Pageant with divisions for ages that range from 3-11: "They will be judged on how they present themselves, and then we'll have them fill out a little biography sheet, as well, and they'll be asked some questions from that biography sheet."
Both pageants will take place at the Chillicothe Elk's Hall on May 11th.
Cost to register for the Queen Pageant is $25, while the fee is $15 for the Princess Pageant. The deadline to apply is May 1st.
