The Zane Trace FFA Animal Behavior, Welfare and Management team placed first in the state competition which was held Tuesday at the Ohio FFA Center.
The team consisted of Senior Jessie Proehl, Juniors Kasandra Dalton, Lauren Smith, Amber Ginter and Maleah Calhoun.
In this contest, members worked both as individuals and as a team to make decisions about the housing, health, feeding and behaviors of various animal species.
This is the first Zane Trace Career development event team to win a state contest.
The group now advances to the National FFA contest to be held in Louisville, Kentucky this November.
