A truck crash created a fuel spill Monday morning on U.S. Route 23 northbound lanes at the Main Street ramp.
As of 12:30pm, both northbound lanes have been reopened, but the entrance ramp from Main Street to northbound Route 23 remains closed until about 3pm.
Scioto Township Fire Department reports the accident occurred at 7:50am, where approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel drained from the right side of the semis right side tank.
There was no fire involved and haz-mat personnel along with other firefighters secured the leak and sent up containment areas to keep the spill from spreading further into drains and grassy areas.
Firefighers say portions of the highway will be closed off-and-on over the next few days as cleanup continues.
