Two men were arrested after authorities found a suspected meth lab at an Adelphi home, Tuesday. According to Ross County Sheriff George Lavender, deputies responded to a Chestnut Street home at 6:30pm in reference to a welfare check on 51-year-old Bernie Rossiter after a concerned neighbor voiced concern that Rossiter was being abused and suspected drug activity in the home.
The Sheriff says Rossiter claimed he was fine, but then the deputy noticed a strong chemical odor coming from the home and found materials consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamines.
Following a search warrant being served, authorities say Rossiter was arrested and charged with permitting drug abuse, while 35-year-old Michael Gierhart, of Laurelville, who was also at the home, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities say additional charges are possible pending lab results.
