CINCINNATI (AP) _ An Ohio coroner says authorities are investigating multiple possibilities for why a 12-year-old boy fatally shot his 9-year-old half brother and then turned the gun on himself.
Authorities say each boy had a single gunshot wound to the head. Jackson County Coroner Dr. Gregory Hawker says investigators don't know whether the shootings in Jackson in southern Ohio were a murder-suicide, a suicide pact or an accidental shooting followed by suicide.
He tells The Associated Press there was no sign of a struggle, and that the younger boy was sitting in a chair when he was shot. He says investigators have taken the older boy's computer.
Jackson police Chief Carl Eisnaugle says there might never be an explanation for happened Wednesday in the bedroom at the home of the boys' grandparents.
