Construction on two major buildings are underway, with fall classes to resume in the partially mitigated high school...before they switch over with the new year. Then the old high school will be demolished, and a new middle school will be built there.
Several ordinances to annex the expanded school campus were mistakenly on council's agenda, ahead of schedule, and so were removed - but will be added back next council session. One annexation ordinance was passed to start that process, though.

Mayor said "a hero in our midst," Joe Eveland, will get a council resolution later this month. He was the firefighter who, after leaving work Monday morning, saved a man from a house fire.
Mayor McIlroy also mentioned the passing of retired Municipal Court Judge, Charles Hosterman, who was integral to getting the new court and police station built.
