A few Chillicothe wrestlers were out of the lineup and should return in following weeks. Fifth place is a very solid finish for a starting lineup that had one senior, two juniors, six sophomores and three freshmen.
Christian Collins had a hard fought championship match going into the final 25 seconds tied 3-3, to end up losing 6-3. There were a few calls that didn’t go his way and he battled his way to the end.
Jacob Price battled through an ugly cut to the head from an elbow that stopped the third place match for around 10 minutes to close the wound and clean up the blood. Jacob fought through the adversity to win by tech fall 16-1.
Gene Dunn bounced back after a hard fought lost to eventually champ Tobin Anderson (Washington Court House) in the semifinals to break a 6-6 tie in the final 15 seconds of the match with a takedown.
Tom Dunn lost a tough semifinals bout. With seven seconds left in the match, opponent Aaron Greer (Washington Court House) was able to break the 7-7 tie with an escape and record the victory. Tom was able to place third with a win over teammate Jalen Mischal who was wrestling as an extra and was able to place fourth.
