The Chillicothe wrestling team traveled to Warren Wednesday for a tri-match with Wlliamstown High School of West Virginia and Warren.

Chillicothe won its dual with Williamstown, 48-36.

Cavalier winners included Jalen Mischal, Austin Mathis, Tyler Howard, Christian Collins, Erik Alderman, Caleb Price, Christian Powell and Gene Dunn (by pin).

Warren handed Chillicothe (3-1) its first dual loss of the season in the second dual, 39-27.

Winning for the Cavaliers, Erik Alderman (by pin), Gene Dunn (by pin), Caleb Price, Nick Lawhorn and Christian Collins (7-5 in sudden death overtime).

Coach Mike Peck said Collins’ match was the match of the night “Warren’s Austin Antil was 10-0 coming into the match.” Collins led 5-2 with 20 seconds left.”(Collins) was able to pull through for the takedown in overtime for the win.”

Maturity got the best of the Cavs in the Warren match. “We were up in several of the key matches, however the young wrestlers made mistakes and allowed pins against them.” Said Peck.

Chillicothe is back in action this Saturday at Southeastern High School for the Ross County Duals.
