Foul trouble on Unioto's 6'5 senior post-player Chase Detillion was a major factor in the Shermans 50-39 loss to Warren Friday in the Division 2 District Semi at the OU Convo.
Detillion picked up two first half fouls, then two more in the second half, with number four on a controversial call. Detillion was called for an offensive foul despite being crunched between a two-player defensive sandwich.
Unioto's biggest lead for the night was 16-9 but Warren was able to tie the game at 18 a piece in the first half before the Sherman's took a 24-20 halftime lead.
With Unioto leading 26-22 in the third quarter Warren went on their first run of the second half outscoring the Shermans 8-0 taking a 30-26 lead. The Shermans fought back to within one at 30-29.
Unioto had their last lead of game 33-32 late in the third quarter, when Warren made its second run of the night, 9-0 to take a 39-33 lead. Unioto pulled back to 41-37 when Warren when on its third and final run of the game outscoring the Shermans 9-2 and winning the game 50-39.
Warren had 3 players in double figures, Evan French with 19 points and 6 rebounds. The Warriors received 10 points a piece from Dylan Leffingwell and Adam Lang off the bench.
Unioto was led with 10 points from 6'2 senior Bryce Arledge, including 3 treys. Chase Detillion chipped in 9 points with 8 rebounds and 1 block.
From the field Warren shot 43% going 19-44 and 9-17 from free throw line for 53%.
The Shermans were 15-36 from the floor for 42% and were 4-12 from the charity stripe for 33%.
