The Piketon Redstreaks (22-4) said goodbye to Coach Jeff Lisath Wednesday night as they fell to (22-4) Oak Hill 46-44.
The Redstreaks opened up the game with a 10-2 run, only to trail at the end of the first quarter 16-13. Piketon trailed 28-19 at the half and 39-30 at the end of the third.
The Redstreaks were able to battle back, only trailing by two with less than a minute to play. With the ball and a chance to tie or take the lead, Isaac Brabson drove the ball down to the low post. His first shot was blocked, but his second attempt was blocked as well. Oak Hill came up with the rebound and sealed their trip to the Elite 8 where they will face Ironton on Saturday.
Piketon had two players in double figures. Craigen Moore had 12 points, Jeremy Farmer had 11 points and 6 rebounds.
Piketon was 18/42 from the field for 43%.
Oak Hill had three players in double figures. Drew Hayslop had 11 points, all in the first half along with 7 rebounds. Garrin Stiltner had 10 points and 6 rebounds and Kyle Love chipped in 10 points.
Oak Hill shot 17/46 from the floor for 37%.
Ironton was a 85-54 winner over Martins Ferry in the other semifinal.
