The Hillsboro Board of Education has hired a new varsity football coach.

Matt Hodge is leaving the coaching position at East Clinton after several years, to replace Brian Spicer at Hillsboro, whose contract wasn't renewed after last season.

Spicer was (12-28) in his four years at Hillsboro and has since been hired as the varsity coach at Westfall High School.

Hodge was (38-34) with the Astros program and led them to four straight league titles in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference, along with two playoff appearances. Last year East Clinton in their first year the SCOL went (3-7) overall.

Chillicothe joins the SCOL this fall.
