Chillicothe officials have announced the scheduled pick-up dates.

The city of Chillicothe is cleaning streets in the downtown business district every Friday morning. Therefore, parking will be prohibited on these streets from 5:30am to 7:30am each Friday. Cars parked in these areas during this time will be towed. The city has also changed its pick-up days for downtown businesses to Tuesday and Friday only.

Chillicothe will also provide a "large item" pick-up service beginning the week of April 23rd. City crews will pick up: carpet, sofas, chairs, mattresses, and other similar pieces of furniture.  Paint cans will be collected as long as the paint has been dried out or mixed with sawdust.

Large items which will not be picked up are large appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, hot water tanks, heaters, old radios, computer equipment, air conditioning units, and televisions. Construction materials from demolitions or remodeling will not be collected. In addition, they will not pick up tires, batteries, chemicals, or other hazardous materials.

Items must be kept separate from regular refuse/garbage/trash and should be placed at the curb.

The following schedule will take place for the large item pickup:
Regular Pickup    Your Pickup Week

Monday                 Monday, April 23rd, thru Friday, April 27th
Tuesday                Monday, April 30th, thru Friday, May 4th
Wednesday          Monday, May 7rd, thru Friday, May 11th
Thursday               Monday, May 14th, thru Friday, May 18th
Friday                    Monday, May 21th, thru Friday, May 25th

Crews will not return to an area once it has been collected. If you do not have your items out and ready for pickup at the scheduled time, you will be responsible for clearing the items from your yard.

Tickets will be issued for people who violate the rules of this program.
