Proehl Favors More Definition for Internet Cafes'

The Chillicothe Councilman says current city ordinance can be made clearer for the future.

At least one member of Chillicothe City Council believes the city is on solid ground concerning their current ordinances on electronic gambling, but thinks they could be even better.

Proehl believes the city's current ordinance would stand up in court, but better "definition" within the ordinance might help it stand the test of time in a quickly changing technology gaming strategy by illegal gambling interests.

Proehl, who adds they are NOT looking at charitable gaming activities.

The Ohio Attorney General has described "Internet Cafes" that provide electronic gambling as a possible rip-off of consumers and the legislature is considering laws to regulate or ban the practice.
