Council made more EMT's and firefighters possible.
Council passed an ordinance tidying up legislation from last summer, to allow four more first responders - while still being able to afford them. They are paid hourly, which offers flexibility in costs and scheduling.
The original legislation needed a little correction and clarification, but this action did not affect the two part-timers already working.
Sister Monica Justinger, finance chair, oversaw most of the work, but she noted the Safety Service committee also contributed to the effort.
